WaPo: Partial Withdrawal In Early 2006 {w/ poll]

Tue Nov 22, 2005 at 11:06:31 PM PDT

The Washington Post is reporting that a partial withdrawal from Iraq will begin in early 2006, with US brigades being reduced from 18 to 15.

The article's spin is that its a military decision.  That seems odd, considering we don't seem to have more security there than we did.  However, it does have information on where the troops will go (many of them will likely stay on in Kuwait) and notes the similarity of that to Murtha's proposal.

We owe Murtha a debt of gratitude, for finally helping to put the party on the right side of the debate (the question became "when can we leave?" instead of "don't you want to build a democracy?").
