Clinton Gives Up on MO, KS, CO, AK?

Sun Feb 03, 2008 at 05:26:13 PM PDT

The Clinton campaign appears to be playing defense heading into Super Tuesday.

Lots of interesting stuff in this Guardian article, but this is what stood out to me:

The two contenders for the Democratic nomination are now in a virtual dead heat for the party nomination ahead of Super Tuesday. The two are spending $19m on ads in the final hours of the contest. Obama is advertising in 21 of the 22 states, while Clinton is targeting 19, having apparently given up on Alaska, Colorado, Kansas and Missouri. Neither candidate is running television ads in Obama's home state of Illinois.

So, not only has Hillary Clinton completely thrown in the towel in Alaska, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri, but she is also not advertising in Obama's home state of Illinois.  Meanwhile, Obama is advertising in New York, and Hillary is being forced to advertise in her home state as well.

Going into to Super Tuesday, it certainly seems Obama has Hillary on the backfoot.
