Bill Clinton has a unique interpretation of the situation in Iraq which doesn't seem to have much to do with reality.
From the New York Observer
In his campaign events, he pokes or punches the air when he says of his wife, "She made a difference in our lives." He boils down complex international affairs to the most digestible basics—Iraq is a neighbor still crashing on your couch five years after his house burned down. "It’s not about the fire anymore," he says.
There are so many problems with this statement. If your neighbor is sleeping on your couch, it is because you started your neighbor's fire. Then you kept pouring gasoline on the flames. The people of Iraq are not some sort of lazy bums who are depending on the goodwill of the United States. They are a people who has had their country invaded for no good reason, and left in ruins as a result. And many if not most of them want the US to leave their country as soon as possible.
