You are a liar.
Sen. John McCain told Newsweek that he did not deliver a line in his prepared speech last week that criticized the media for not fairly covering Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.
John McCain quoted: "I did not [say that] -- that was in prepared remarks, and I did not [say it] -- I'm not in the business of commenting on the press and their coverage or not coverage."
It seems that McCain's history of crazy, patently false blanket statements can be extended back until at least 2000.
I can't find the exact date for this, so it anyone knows it or has a copy of the full interview, please let me know. But in this clip, John McCain promises to Charlie Rose to leave politics for good in 2006 after his Senate term expires
Video and my transcript after the jump.
Sam Stein on Huffington Post points out the most glaring weakness in the McCain campaign. The Republican candidate can't get the facts right, on a daily basis.
Check out the typo:
But a more worrisome issue for the McCain campaign may just be that a theme is emerging, both within the media and political circles, that the Arizona Republican has a penchant for playing lose with the facts.
You've heard of bobblehead dolls? How about bobblefeet?
I dug up a diary I wrote on January 15th wherein I expounded on the one significant piece of Hillary Clinton's past that I personally knew was a lie at the time she told the lies.
Many now see what was obvious to me because I happened to know a bit about what to most people is an arcane subject, commodities trading in the late 70s.
It is funny to look back on all the attacks I received here for daring to "repeat Republican Attacking points". I was even TR'd for daring to repeat what I actually knew from my own personal experience.
My diary follows...
Sen. Clinton was born in Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She went to school in Massachusets and Connecticut . She then married and moved to Arkansas. Now she represents New York in the Senate. Therefore she is from all those places. She won primaries in all these significant states: Massachussets, Arkansas, Connecticut and New York. Her win in PA is partly attributed to her grandparents being from there. Illinois doesn't count because Sen. Obama is from there too.
Thus, it is clear that having roots all over the US is a distinct advantage to Sen. Clinton. It makes her a hometown girl in most of the places she has won. Even in TX her connections date back to the seventies when she campaigned for McGovern there. And as first lady she spent so much time in CA, everyone was surprised when she chose New York from which to run for the Senate.
The next primary is in Guam, May 3rd. Nine delegates at stake. Almost the number of delegates Sen. Clinton won in her gigantic victory in PA. Guam is definitely a significant contest.
I have such fond memories of Guam!
Sen. Clinton began her Press Conference yesterday. The reporters were skeptical.
With Hillary's previous mishaps and shortcomings, it was at least somewhat predictable how she'd spin the story to save face. But in this situation, even if you give her the benefit of the doubt and say that her erroneous claim that MoveOn was against the war in Afghanistan was a mere "misstatement," how can she reconcile the rest of the remarks?

John McCain struck it rich when he married into his heiress's wife fortune basically dumping his first wife:
Opportunistically John McCain basically left his first wife and traded up for his second wife who was younger and much richer:
He was also still married to his first wife Carol, although the couple had recently separated. Carol later attributed the breakdown of the marriage to "John turning 40 and wanting to be 25 again". McCain fell like a brick for Cindy, who was the heir to a brewery distribution business worth millions.
and John McCain says he's one of us?
I remember when George W. Bush was posing in Crawford texas cutting brush with his cowboy hat on the ranch as the press portrayed Bush as a "working, blue collar man" a "regular joe" and now John McCain is strutting himself attacking Barrack Obama for being an "Elitist" WTF?

Hillary Clinton jokes about her fabrication and lies on the Tonight Show:
Is there any decency left in Hillary Clinton? Yesterday she was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and she made fun of her fabrications and lies about the Bosnia trip.
"It is so great to be here, I was so worried I wasn't going to make it. I was pinned down by sniper fire," Clinton said after joining him onstage, referring to her claims—since disputed—that she dodged sniper bullets while arriving in Bosnia as first lady. Clinton later said she had "misspoke."
She thinks now that lies and fabrications are something not to be taken seriously and yet she is running under the motto of being the most serious and qualified candidate who can lead from day one. Shameful beyond belief.
Hillary says sniper fire comments were
"a mismatch of words and actions"
"a lapse", if you will.
Seems that Hillary has a long history of not telling the truth. It even got her fired without a letter of recommendation early on in her career.
Yes.
The day has now arrived when Senator Obama begins explaining to all Americans that come November 2008 their choice will be Obama or McCain
Obama Casts Race Between Him, McCain
Why is this so important? ...
First it was the 3am little girl, now grown, speaking out for Barack Obama. Now it's the little girl in the Bosnia video!
"It is an ugly thing for a politician to tell lies,' she said. "We had problems for years, and I don't like when someone lies about them. It makes us look bad."
