I just can´t quit you guys! Signs you are a DKos addict...
Wed May 28, 2008 at 11:44:22 AM PDT
Ok, as if I needed any more signs that I´m a DKos addict...
I´m in Germany now, haven´t slept (not even sure what day it is) have already had a few drinks, should be more worried about my work and the trade show that starts tomorrow where oh, only 400,000 people will attend-yes it really is that big- but instead here I am at an internet cafe checking in on my family at DKos.´
And I´m trying to figure this German keyboard out, so forgive any typos. Holz Crap! There´s a ´z´ where the ´y´ is supposed to be!
Anyway, I don´t know whether this is just really sad on my part or just a big compliment for the whole gang at Daily Kos but I prefer to think it´s the latter.
Obama Wants YOUR Feedback! Take The Survey
Fri May 23, 2008 at 07:21:03 PM PDT
I just got an email from an Obama campaign Voter Contact Director.
They want our feedback and have asked us to take a survey. If you have volunteered for the campaign or have a page on the Obama site you may have gotten one too.
I'm not sure if they sent it to their whole email list or just sent it to donators, organizers, captains or whatever because I've done all 3.
UPDATE: Based on the comments below it looks like this email is going out to everyone on their list- so please FILL IT OUT!
I do Marketing for a living I know first hand how important it is to have the right intelligence to plan your strategy.

If Hillary is so "Tough" Why do We Have to Tip-Toe Around Her?
Tue May 20, 2008 at 09:58:07 AM PDT
Note: Technically I'm at work so I'm not going to go hunting for a hundred links to add here. We know the facts by now, this is an opinion piece.
Note #2: FYI- I am a woman. I'm all for a female Prez, just not this one.
And now for my rant: I'm sorry but I just have to get this out or I'll burst. All we keep hearing is how "tough" Hillary is yet her and her supporters are so damned sensitive that you feel like you have to tip-toe around them all the time.
All I hear is "don't say this or that, you might upset them". You can't even point out the OBVIOUS (that she's losing) or it will be seen as "pushing her out of the race". So she's tough as nails and can hold her own but at the same time she's a poor woman being "bullied" out of the race by the boys and a "sexist" media? Well, which one is it Hill?
My God!! If she's trying to break female sterotypes she's not doing a very good job of it. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells with her. If I wanted that quality in a President I'd vote for my mother, for Pete's sake! My mother is highly skilled at blowing any and every comment out of proportion.
More ranting after the fold if you can bear it-
Don't Fall for the Spin! Red, Rural White Voters for Obama
Sun May 18, 2008 at 05:16:29 PM PDT
A quick note first- I'm still in shock from learning that my life-long Republican, conservative parents in Texas support Barack Obama. That was shocker # 1. And I still feel like it must have been a dream.
If you knew my parents you would understand. I cried when I got a cell phone message from my mom on March 4th simply saying
"I voted for your guy."
I wanted to diary it and maybe will someday but it was too much for me to even take in at the time. All of my adult life (almost 20 years) politics has been off limits in my family because discussions could get too heated. To keep the peace, we "agreed to disagree".... and now here we are AGREEING on something!
But now comes the shocker of all shockers-
Updated: Guess Who's Spreading the Smear Emails?
Sat May 03, 2008 at 06:29:01 PM PDT
Though it's hard to believe, especially after the seemingly endless coverage about Obama's CHURCH, the Muslim smear emails are STILL circulating. I just got another one today.
While I have no way of knowing where the first emails came from, I can tell you who is responsible for spreading them.
I'll tell you how I know after the fold...
ABC did Obama a favor tonight
Wed Apr 16, 2008 at 09:00:15 PM PDT
Do you realize that ABC validated Obama's 'bitter' comments tonight?
ABC demonstrated exactly what Obama said, that (some) people have come to distrust politicians and their promises so much (that pols will help solve any problems that REALLY effect their day to day lives) that they vote on things like lapel pins, "patriotism", guns, etc. And those are precisely the questions they asked about- proving Obama's point.
BUT WHERE THE MSM IS WRONG - YET AGAIN- is in thinking that the majority of Americans still fit into this category of people. We do not. Not this time! We want to talk about real issues, not distractions.
(By Request) 5 Myths about Phonebanking. Updated w/ Poll
Thu Apr 10, 2008 at 03:12:25 PM PDT
UPDATE: I have received multiple requests to re-post a diary that I wrote last week so here ya go! And many thanks to all the wonderful comments, success stories and thanks I got from fellow Kossacks. Smileycreek's comment: I tried it..and you're right!" Smileycreek started dialing, followed some of my tips, and was able to put another PA voter in the Obama column by just making a few calls. And so can you! Original post: http://www.dailykos.com/...
I understand that the idea of phonebanking can be intimidating, but the reality is much different from what most of us imagine.
Some of you may also wonder if phonebanking even really makes a difference.
So I thought I’d post a few mythbusters about phonebanking to help encourage some of you who may be on the fence to start making calls- BECAUSE IT DOES WORK AND IT'S EASIER THAN YOU THINK. I also have a few quick tips- and one super-tip for those of you who are already on board.

Some of you may also wonder if it really makes a difference.
So I thought I’d post a few mythbusters about phonebanking to help encourage some of you who may be on the fence along with a few quick tips for those of you who have some experience but may want some pointers.
URGENT: Texas convention tomorrow!
Fri Mar 28, 2008 at 10:44:42 AM PDT
This has to be short because I'm at work so I'll just give you the bottom line.
Texas has it's delegate convention TOMORROW (Saturday) and there are delegates who either:
- Don't know they were elected because some of the caucuses were such a mess.
- Don't know where to go
- Don't know the time
- Don't know that they are supposed to show up
- There are also delegates trying to be poached by Clinton
Hillary is the Judas, Not Richardson
Tue Mar 25, 2008 at 05:02:05 PM PDT
Hillary once again tried to sabotage Obama just to distract from the ugliness of her own campaign.
Today she needlessly resurrected the Wright controversy in attempts to shift the negative publicity to Obama and save herself from being called on out her Bosnia tall tales (no surprise there!)
Her campaign tactics keep hitting new lows. Her surrogate, Carville compared Gov. Richardson to Judas selling Jesus out for 30 pieces of silver last week.
But who was sitting right by Hillary's side (literally and figuratively) when Bill shamed her and the whole country with the Monica Lewinsky scandal? I'll tell you who- Rev. Wright!
And who is she attacking now? Rev. Wright! So who's the real Judas Hillary? You sold him out just to get out of a bad news cycle when he stood by you in the toughest time of your life!
24 Hours later, Hillary rejects her own 'rejection' advice
Wed Feb 27, 2008 at 08:13:56 PM PDT
Typical. So frickin' typical. Hillary always has two sets of rules: one that applies to her and one for her opponents.
After lecturing Barack Obama about denouncing and rejecting at the debate last night (Barack actually used the more appropriate term by the way) she changes her tune when she finds herself in a similar position less than 24 hours later.
She claimed at the debate that she rejected an endorsement in her New York run even though it could have been at her own peril. I don't know about that but that's sure not what she did today. Quotes after the fold.
NYC Mayor: "Voter fraud" in NY - W/ poll
Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 09:23:22 AM PDT
A few words before I write this: THANK YOU WISCONSIN AND HAWAII!!!!
Now on to the news...forgive me if this has been posted already- I didn't see it and thought it was imporant to share.
NYC Mayor Bloomberg announced he believes there was fraud in the NYC vote tallies, in which Obama got **zero** votes in 80 districts (and counting). The city tried to explain this away as simple human error, but pleeeeeeeeease! Obama gets zero votes in a Harlem district and no one notices??? No one suspects anything? Not once or twice, but 80 times?!
Bloomberg: "If you want to call it significant undercounting, I guess that's a euphemism for fraud". You tell 'em, Bloomberg! This is BS. More.....
Wisconsin Report and Open Thread
Sun Feb 17, 2008 at 02:09:14 PM PDT
I've been phonebanking in WI and have some observations / tips to share.
- There are a LOT of people still undecided.
This concerns me because of the general rule that undecideds who make up their minds the last day tend to go for the establishment candidate (better the devil you know then the one you don't as Candy Crowley says). CNN exit poll questions verify that on the whole, this is correct. Go to cnn.com -to see exit poll answers if you need to see with your own eyes.
ALL THE MORE REASON WHY WE NEED TO CALL TODAY AND TOMORROW!

How Hope Tipped the Scales in Smalltown, USA by ONE VOTE
Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 10:47:33 AM PDT
I get over 500 emails a day now from the dozens of Obama groups that I participate in. Many include inspirational stories of how Barack Obama is moving people all across the country.
But one story stood out from all the rest and I couldn't resist sharing it with the rest of you (for those of you who haven't seen it yet).
I hope that this story provides added inspiration for all of us to keep working hard every day to get just one more vote. NOTE: while I did not write this piece I do have permission from the author to post it here in full.
Enjoy!
