Hillary Apologizes
Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 08:23:15 PM PDT
A/P just reported that Hillary made apologetic comments tonight in a speech to National Newspaper Publishers Association, a group of more than 200 black community newspapers across the country.
The A/P story is a bit sparse reporting with her comments. Read on and form your own opinion.
The latest on the missing WH emails
Tue Feb 26, 2008 at 07:59:38 PM PDT
This recent A/P story describes new information provided to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee earlier today:
A computer expert who worked at the White House provided the first inside look at its e-mail system Tuesday, calling it a "primitive" setup that created a high risk that data would be lost.
High risk indeed.
Attorney's pre-emptive block of Florida delegates
Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 08:46:11 PM PDT
An attorney acting on his own filed a complaint which may have a profound impact on the Democratic nomination.
Local attorney Jim Harris wants to make sure that delegates are not counted. Harris filed an elections fraud complaint with the State of Florida. He contends Florida voters knew the delegates were not being counted, therefore the January 29 primary wasn't a real election.
"My point is to make sure that the rules aren't changed in the middle of the game," Harris said.
Godawful Fox News
Fri Feb 01, 2008 at 03:47:07 PM PDT
Just listened to Fox News radio snippet on my drive home. It reported McCain with a huge lead over Rommeny (28 pts) and Hillary 10 pts over Obama.
With a jocular sound in her voice, the speaker ended the very brief news bite with this:
Clinton is seen as the most likely to embarrass the country.
OMG.
The WH's new/old political direction
Sat Nov 18, 2006 at 10:03:03 PM PDT
The NY Times reviews Karl Rove's current status within the WH with the article,
A Tough Road Ahead for the President's Closest Adviser.
If the roles were reversed whereby the mid-term elections just repudiated the policies of a Democratic President, can you image the political firestorm that would be brewing around the WH? (Heck, the Democrats won resoundingly and yet people like Carville concocted reasons to snipe.)
Well, that's not how the Republicans reacted, at least not publicly. The article explains how the White House expects to change its political courses after the election...not!
Craig's List founder aims for accurate news
Mon Jan 02, 2006 at 08:27:27 AM PDT
A column by Eric Deggins (excellent all-around critic and editorial board member) of the St. Petersburg Times today alerted me to this item. To my surprise, I can't find any prior references on dkos albeit the search function is not very responsive right now. If I'm mistaken, I apologize for the redundancy and will delete this diary.
Back in November, Craig Newmark of the infamous Craig's List craigslist.com provided a talk at Oxford University about a new project. I'll make my first prediction for 2006: By the end of the year, we'll all know about his project and, going out further on the limb, I bet it will have an impact on some elections.
