John McCain's Internet Training Manual

Mon Jul 14, 2008 at 10:36:50 PM PDT

Senator McCain:

It has come to my attention that you are trying to familiarize yourself with the Internet... and yes, the noun is singular in case you've been listening to George.

I would like to offer to you a few helpful suggestions which will make your internet 'watching' experience more productive and less dangerous.

Follow, if you may, after the fold.

Raging Leftist's Rant

Thu Jul 10, 2008 at 12:34:28 PM PDT

I actually can't believe that I am the one saying this, but some of you fellow lefties are off your nut.

I recently took the Political Compass quiz.  Needless to say, I was to the left of Lenin and Ghandi both.  I am an atheist, vegetarian, pro-choice, pro environment, anti-discrimination, semi-socialist who believes that all of life's basic needs should be communally shared... wants are negotiable.

For every thousand citizens there are probably 999 who disagree with me on one or more of my values.

Yet, I openly campaigned and was a state delegate for Senator Obama in Washington.

A Response to a DFH:

Tue Jul 01, 2008 at 11:51:31 PM PDT

I originally posted this response to this diary.  I've now realized I need to post this where someone else will see it.

History lends its weight upon youth like a stone.
The young do not deserve that weight nor should they be forced to bear your history.

There is more than enough weight for them to bear in the future.

Hillary Supporters to Throw Women's Movement Under the Bus?

Wed May 14, 2008 at 10:48:56 PM PDT

Most of us who have been on DailyKos for awhile know alegre has been one of the most dedicated Hillary supporters on the site.  alegre was to the Hillary camp what TomP was to the Edwards camp, and icebergslim was to the Obama camp... a good place for videos, mojo, and trollish retorts from detractors.

Edwards left the race gracefully and Hillary supporters went on strike.

In an earlier diary skjold wondered if MyDD was finally coming around.

I think the answer is forthcoming.  MyDD is becoming unglued.

Once Upon a Time

Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 11:02:15 PM PDT

Once upon a time there lived a family upon the hill.  It was largely a happy family, with many members and many new fields to sow.  The granaries were burgeoning, the children were well fed, and the future looked enticing.  The children loved their parents and each other.  They played well and often.

Shame on you!

Fri Apr 25, 2008 at 10:31:02 PM PDT

I just watched the Jeremiah Wright interview on PBS’ Bill Moyer’s Journal.

I began the interview listening intently, wanting to see what Reverend Wright was made of, how he would fare with one of the fairest journalists on television.  Moyer’s was his only option, as no other outlet would allow him to make his arguments in depth.

I ended the conversation (yes, it was more a conversation than an interview as is Moyer’s style) loving the man.

Yes, loving the man.  Me, a 40 year old white atheist concluding that Jeremiah Wright was a man worthy of love, respect, and my undivided attention.

Connection Between Drudge and Clinton Camp Confirmed

Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 07:25:19 PM PDT

Buzzflash reveals a known link between Drudge and the Clinton Camp. Originally reported by the International Herald Tribune last October, Tracy Sefl, a former DNC official provides the link.

I once went to a Pro football game.

Tue Feb 19, 2008 at 10:52:13 PM PDT

I have been to one professional football game in my life.  The Green Bay Packers came to Seattle over a season ago to play the Seahawks in a regular season game (on a Monday Night, if I remember correctly).  A friend of mine bought tickets for the two of us as a gift.

How exciting.

Howard Dean Vindicated

Tue Feb 05, 2008 at 10:46:30 PM PDT

The 50 State Strategy is alive and well, and working for the candidate who chose to embrace it.

Obama's efforts in every state has led him to huge advantages in states from Idaho to Alaska, Kansas to Georgia, Colorado to Delaware.

These advantages have mitigated the institutional advantages of Clinton in states like California, New York, and Massachusets.

But Obama's efforts have also exposed a fatal flaw in Hillary's campaign:
