Marching with Colo Lieutenant Governor in Vail w/ **Pictures**
Fri Jul 04, 2008 at 09:45:36 PM PDT
We had a great day marching with the Eagle County Democratic Partyentry in the Vail, Colorado parade. It was a picture perfect sunny day in the high country.
How lucky were we to have Lieutenant Governor Barbara O'Brien marching with us! She was here to introduce State Representative Christine Scanlan (HD56-Eagle, Lake, and Summit) to the voters. This is the second time Lt. Gov. O'Brien has marched with the Eagle County Dems. In 2006 she commented on how great the Vail crowd was, but I didn't expect her back so soon. At the time, she was running on the ticket with now Governor Bill Ritter. When she was running for election, it was me introducing her to the local voters! My, how times have changed.
The Lt. Governor didn't know I snapped this photo as she checked her watch. I believe she and Rep. Scanlan were heading to Summit or Lake County to catch another parade.

Welcome to the second of report of The Daily Flipper. As I wrote in Daily Flipper Vol. 1 No 1, the DNC research department sends to my inbox a summary of news about Senator John McCain and other republicans. I take this news and report it here in the Flipper as an opposition research project. Today's edition is all about Sen. John McCain and his gaffes, mixing up Shiite and Sunni, again. All about how wrong he is on Iraq. And a bonus Take Action item from Chairman Dean.

The Daily Flipper – Vol. 1 No. 1 – Monday, April 7, 2008
Mon Apr 07, 2008 at 10:57:54 AM PDT
There has been some conversation here that we are spending too much time about our nominees, while Sen. McCain is getting a free a free-ride. I could not agree more. In order to help shift the focus, I am going to post, almost verbatim, a frequent email I receive from the DNC research department. The stories may or may not have been reported here on Kos. They are a summary of the news of the day regarding Sen. McCain and Republicans. It may be helpful for those who wish to send an LTE to your local news. Or write up a diary with more background on a specific story you find here first.
Regardless, it is a DNC members attempt to put forth what the DNC finds as relevant news reports on the state of the Republicans during this election season. You won't find any DNC commentary here, except the headlines. They are simply publishing a few sentences from the printed story. If I have anything to add in the way of commentary, I will. But I there are many here that follow specific issues who could write expanded diaries much better than I.

"A New Hope" - Rolling Stone Endorses Obama
Thu Mar 06, 2008 at 04:55:04 PM PDT
Senator Obama is having a good day today! Increasing the super-delgate to over 200. Announcing the campaign has raised $55 million in February. And now this:

The tides of history are rising higher and faster these days. Read them right and ride them, or be crushed. And then along comes Barack Obama, with the kinds of gifts that appear in politics but once every few generations. There is a sense of dignity, even majesty, about him, and underneath that ease lies a resolute discipline. It's not just that he is eloquent — with that ability to speak both to you and to speak for you — it's that he has a quality of thinking and intellectual and emotional honesty that is extraordinary. -Rolling Stone Endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama for President

Clinton Campaign sets up Delegate Hub and distorts some facts
Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 09:08:30 AM PDT
The Sen. Clinton campaign has set up a web page called Delegate Hubto make their case for Super Delegates to support whichever candidate they choose. They also ask that Florida and Michigan be included.
At what price? Does the Sen. Clinton camp want to see the Democrats loose the general election? Do they want chaos at the Democratic convention?
As more voters make their choice for the Democratic nomination, there is growing interest in the facts and myths about the race to reach 2208 delegate votes - the number required for a candidate to secure the nomination with Florida and Michigan included. The Obama campaign is claiming, without precedent or justification, that automatic delegates (commonly referred to as "super delegates") should switch to Sen. Obama en masse based on arbitrary metrics, with the aim of tilting the delegate balance in his favor. The fact is: no automatic delegate is required to cast a vote on the basis of anything other than his or her best judgment about who is the most qualified to be president.

Become a Citizen Whip - Restore Habeas Corpus
Tue Sep 18, 2007 at 05:21:07 PM PDT
Senators Leahy and Dodd are calling on us to help them get at least seven more sponsors for the Habeas Corpus restoration bill. The Sentors write in thier email that
"Unfortunately, a number of Republican Senators are once again trying to block our efforts by threatening to filibuster our amendment."
The good news is, they only need 7 6 more sponsors to have a veto-proof bill.

All 49 Dems plus Sen. Bernie Sanders, Arlan Specter and Gordon Smith are on board.
The bad news is all but one two Republican and Sen. Lieberman need to be enlightened to come to the side of the Constitution. Yes, that's right, they need to be whipped to make our constitution whole again.
That's where you and I come in. We are being asked to become the citizen whips by our Senators.
See who you can whip on the flip. Flip it good.
